Genetic Testing
GeneSight testing is a DNA test that analyzes how your genes may affect medication outcomes. The test analyzes clinically important genetic variations in your DNA. There are DNA markers for various psychiatric medications that can inform your doctor about how you may metabolize and respond to certain medications that treat Mood disorders, Anxiety, ADHD and Psychosis. The Genesight test also checks Methyl Folate metabolism which is required for effective clinical response to most antidepressants. Only a medical provider can order GeneSight and most Insurance will cover a portion of the cost ($330). A copy of the results will be provided for you to keep.
