Autism is an extremely complex disorder that has multiple factors involved: Genetics, In-utero brain development, exposure history, gender (Males > females, 4X greater). It is a spectrum disorder, a range from mild to severe. No two children alike will have the same behaviors or skills. The major parts of the disorder involve: Communication, Social Deficits and Self-Stimulation. These issues appear during childhood and may be detected during various developmental stages of life. There is a high comorbidity with ADHD, Anxiety disorders and Mood Dysregulation with Autism.
